Auer House
Music House / Auditorium / Caffé / Housing / 2019
Within the “Veszprém 2023 European Capital of Culture” development program, the reconstruction of Lipót Auer’s birthplace and the establishment of a Cultural Center / House of Music were one of the main objectives.
The musician’s house is located alongside a parking lot, which is also used as crossover. My proposition highlights the area to become a common square; using the buildings – old and new – as the square’s protective borders.
The building responds to the surrounding houses in its proportions and use of materials, but its shape uses a different language, which provides an opportunity to highlight its importance as the House of Music.
